Mohit Chauhan - Music Ka Maha Muqabla

Mohit started his career singing Indian pop songs with the band Silk Route as a lead singer. He released two albums, Boondein and Pehchan with Silk Route. The band dissolved and in 2008 he released the solo album Kalam, for which he composed and sung. He also took part in a television reality series Mission Ustaad on a Hindi entertainment channel.

His most appreciated song even before his film career started was Dooba-Dooba from the album Boondein. The album debuted at number one slot in the charts and the band won several awards at the Channel V awards in 1998. He never took formal training in music, but sings and plays guitar.

His career got a fresh lease of life with the song Khoon Chala from Rang De Basanti. Known for his soft romantic voice, Mohit lured many with his song Tum se Hi from Jab we Met. His song Masakkali from the film Delhi 6 was another addition to prove his versatility as a singer. His recent hits Tu Ne Jo Na Kaha from the film New York, Ye dooriyan from Love Aaj Kal and Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai from the film Kaminey have topped the charts. His album Fitoor has been released recently under the aegis of Universal Music which is proving to be a hit.
