Shreya Ghoshal - Music Ka Maha Muqabla

Shreya Ghoshal was born on March 12, 1984 in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan. From the age of four Ghoshal accompanied her mother on the harmonium. Her parents enrolled her for formal training in Hindustani classical music in Kota with Maheshchandra Sharma.

Then she moved to Mumbai and trained under Kalyanji for 18 months and continued her classical music training with Mukta Bhide in Mumbai.

She caught the attention of film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali when she participated in Music Talent Hunt. In 2000, Sanjay offered her the opportunity to be the voice of Paro, the lead female character of his film Devdas, who was to be portrayed by Aishwarya Rai. Shreya sang five songs in the film. Movie goers from across the world heard Shreya's voice pictured on Aishwarya Rai, and she quickly became one of the top female playback singers in Bollywood. This song earned her the Filmfare Award for best singer that year, as well as the R D Burman award, given to upcoming talents in music at the same award ceremony.

Shreya Ghoshal is an established industry singer and has recorded in various regional languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Meitei, Marathi and Bhojpuri. Since then, she has won 5 filmfare awards and many others commercial awards. She has also received many accolades for the song 'Mere Dholna' from Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

She is only singer to get three national awards at the age of 25 in the Hindi film industry. She also appeared as a judge in the singing show "Amul Star Voice of India Chhote Ustaad". She also sang the title songs of many Indian Television serials.

She sings so flawlessly and beautifully with emotions. Even, Shankar Mahadevan such a senior pro makes mistakes while singing live, but not Shreya. She, also comes across as a nice person. I will be happy if her team wins.
